First off, welcome to our blog. Our goal is to update everyone with posts at least once a month. Depending on where we are posted after our three-month training, we may not have internet access that often, but we'll try.
On June 7, we fly to Philadelphia for staging, which is basically a two-day orientation, vaccination, paperwork, and get-to-know-you session. On June 10 we fly to Burkina Faso via Paris. Once we get to Burkina, we'll be traveling north to Ouahigouya for our three months of training. Training consists of language (French and Mooré), cultural, safety, and professional training. Aaron's job will be teaching math at a secondary school and Amy will be teaching science, both in French.
For now, we've been keeping busy packing, filling out paperwork, practicing our French, and doing some hiking around AZ. The picture above is from our hike up Mt. Humphrey's in Flagstaff.
